I am slightly embarrassed to admit that my decades long obsession with the French Revolution began with a teenage crush on Louis Antoine de Saint-Just, the enigmatic, laconic and disturbingly good looking right hand man and ‘angel of death’ of Robespierre, who shared his fate in July 1794. It paid off handsomely though as I am now pleased to announce that I have been commissioned to write his biography, in which I will be exploring his life, friendship with Robespierre, writings and political career.
My book about Queen Victoria’s relationship with her daughter Princess Alice and granddaughter Empress Alexandra Feodorovna of Russia is due to be published on 30th June and is available to preorder from Amazon, Waterstones & all friendly local bookshops.
